About Me

I’m a “veteran” retired teacher, who taught in Newtown, Connecticut for 40 years. Yes, you can do the math :), but I’m energetic and just can’t get teaching out of my heart.
I retired and moved to Colorado to be closer to my son and daughter. I have 5 grandkids and counting! I love being here. When I left Connecticut to come here, I said I was leaving paradise (my home was literally on the beach) to come to heaven!
Rice is a wonderful place to grow and learn. And yes, I’m still learning. Rice warms my heart and fills my buckets. My mission is to offer the same to our students and our entire staff.
In my spare time, I love to garden, play with my dogs, cat, grandkids, hike, explore Colorado, read, work on all types of puzzles and brain games, knit, bake cookies, invent projects and crafts for myself to keep busy, listen to music, learn….
