About Me

My name is Beth Tennyson, and I am the Art Teacher here at Rice Elementary School. This is my 17th year here, being lucky enough to have been at Rice since day one when the school opened in 2007!  I am a Fort Collins native, attending elementary through high school in Poudre School District and then continuing onto Colorado State University where I received my bachelor's in liberal arts, concentration in Art Education in 2001.    I am extremely grateful I get to come to work each day to help students find their creativity, growth, and success in Art.  I am lucky to do what I love, and love what I do...working with kids every day and teaching Art!! I also am grateful to be a part of the Wellington community for the last 17 years!!!!!

I'm married, and a mom to 3 awesome kiddos, all alumni of Rice Elementary.  I have an older daughter who is a senior in high school and 9th grade girl-boy twins.  I am a big dog lover, having two at Labrador Retriever's at home, one black and one yellow, Rain and Relic (who are liter mates).  When I am not at school, I love to be outside and enjoy the sunshine, travel, watch my kiddos practice and play sports (hockey, soccer, golf, track, and synchronized swimming)!  I also am passionate about running and being physically active.  You can often find me in my spare time creating, painting, working in my yard, walking my pups, hanging with my kids, or enjoying a nice cup of coffee!
