I have a B.A. in Elementary Education from Thomas More College and a M.A. in Reading Instruction from Northern Kentucky University.
What I love most about working at Rice Elementary:
I adore the kids. There is nothing better than watching a child learn something new…the sparkle in their eye and the smile that says, "I did it!" I love teaching at Rice because it has a small town feeling that reminds me of home. My teams is another reason I love Rice! They make work fun.
Favorite Children’s Book/Author:
I love to read Eric Carle books. My favorite book is The Hungry Caterpillar. I think the illustrations are amazing and I like how the students can all read them with me.
I am from Loveland, Ohio. It is right outside of Cincinnati. GO REDS! GO BENGALS!
I love being with my kids! We like to swim, boat, and jeep on days that we just get to be together as a family. I love to be outside either in the mountains or swimming. The sunshine energizes me! I also love to snuggle in my blanket and watch the Bengals or Reds win.
A little more about me:
I am a small town girl! I grew up in Loveland, Ohio and returned there after college to teach and give back to my community. I am beginning my 25th year as an educator, but I love it just as much as I did my first year. I am married to one of my hometown best friends… Tony. We have three children, Kyle, Kasi, and Kon, who are the center of our world. We moved to Colorado 11 years ago and as much as we miss our friends and family in Ohio, we are thrilled to be here today! We are finally calling Colorado, HOME.
