About Me
I love being a fifth-grade teacher! Fifth graders are clever, witty, engaging, thoughtful, and a lot of fun! I enjoy watching these young students become leaders throughout their last year of elementary school.
I attended high school in West St. Paul, MN. I earned my undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology from Colorado State University where I also played soccer. I have since continued my education and have earned my Masters in Education from the University of Northern Colorado.
What I love most about working at Rice Elementary:
One of the things that I love the most about Rice Elementary is the incredible community. The students work hard, and are passionate learners. The staff are dedicated and engaging leaders. Lastly, the families are incredibly supportive and welcoming. I feel very lucky to be a part of this community.
Favorite Children’s Book/Author:
There are so many books that I love, but if I had to pick one, I would have to say my favorite is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.
I was born and raised in West St. Paul, MN, but I now call Fort Collins, CO my home.
I love to be active in the outdoors. When I have free time you might find me running, playing soccer, hiking, camping, sailing, biking, or chasing my nephew around the park.
A little more about me:
I love working with kids, and always have. I especially love working with a team of individuals that support each other and learn from one another. I grew up going to a summer camp and worked for many years at a camp before becoming a teacher. Teaching students about teamwork, leadership, and building strong character is very important to me. I'm very grateful to work with the incredible students and staff at Rice Elementary every day!
