About Me
I obtained by Bachelor of Arts degree at University of California, Santa Barbara. After, I returned back to Fresno and received my teaching credential at Kremen School of Education and Human Development at California State University, Fresno.
What I love most about working at Rice Elementary:
What I love most about working at Rice is the sense of community among the staff, students, and parents. At Rice, there is a warm, caring, and welcoming atmosphere, where students' best interests are truly at heart. Teachers work together to support and learn from each other. There is a love of learning and sense of pride that is evident as soon as one enters the door.
Favorite Children’s Book/Author:
My favorite children's book is The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks. I can still remember how excited I would get when my 4th grade teacher read it to us. My goal is for my students to enjoy my read alouds just as much as I enjoyed them when I was their age.
I spent most of my childhood in Fresno, California. Fresno is in California's Central Valley, situated along the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Day trips could include drives to Yosemite National Park, Pismo Beach, or a visit to San Francisco.
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, exploring new places, or spending time with my family. I enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, or skiing. I also enjoy reading a good book when time permits!
A little more about me:
My husband is also an educator and we have two children, Kate who is 6 and Cole who is 2. Kate will be attending 1st grade at Rice! This is my 11th year teaching 4th grade, also having taught 5th grade as part of a combination class for 1 year My family and I moved to Fort Collins this summer and we are thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community.
