After School Enrichment
After school enrichment is an opportunity to engage our students in extracurricular activities outside of the school day. We offer four 5-week sessions spread across the school year. During these weeks classes will meet either Tuesday, Thursday, or Tuesday AND Thursday, from 3:55-4:55.
There are usually 8-10 classes per session. We offer a wide variety of different classes in order to highlight our students varied interests. Classes are taught by staff members, volunteers, and external organizations.
If you are interested in learning more about our after-school enrichment program, or if you are interested in teaching a class, please contact Mrs. Weedin.
Choir is offered each year in the fall semester for third, fourth, and fifth grade students. Requirements for being in choir include the commitment of putting forth best effort, excellent behavior, cooperation, and a love of singing. Join choir!

Rice Garden & Raptor Patch
The outdoor learning classroom and garden is a place for students and teachers to experience learning through inquiry and discovery. The Colorado native plants give students a chance to explore the flora that grows and thrives in different Colorado ecosystems. This outdoor classroom can also lend itself to any class that would like to expand their four walls to include sunshine and fresh air.
The Rice Elementary Raptor Squad is a group of innovative 5th grade students who produce our morning announcements, The Raptor Report. Students learn news gathering techniques & operate the video camera, audio mixer, video mixer & video editing software, along with working on presentations. This is an extra- curricular opportunity - students commit to taping one morning a week.
The Rice Technology Team is made up of 5th graders. The Tech team explores various technology & applications, creates videos, and helps with both Science Night & Tech Night. The Technology Team meets Thursday mornings, 8:00 am – 8:45 am
