About Me

Hello! I am Elaine Mott and I am very excited to be a 2nd grade teacher at Rice Elementary this year. This will be my 15th year in teaching. I have taught several years in various grade levels Kindergarten through 3rd grade and have spent the last five years in Reading Intervention. I completed my undergrad degree from University of Colorado, Boulder in 2000 and completed my masters degree in Reading Instruction at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 2009.

I moved around growing up, but I mostly grew up in Fort Collins and attended schools in the Poudre School District. I went to Shepardson Elementary, Boltz Junior High, and graduated from Fort Collins High School. I have moved around as an adult and taught in many places--including Camp Zama, Japan; Pierce, CO; Palmer Lake, CO; Waukegan, IL; West Salem, WI. This summer I moved back to the Fort Collins area from Wisconsin and I am very excited to be back in the Fort Collins/Wellington area and back in PSD!

I love sports of all kinds, especially baseball and football! I am a die hard Chicago Cubs, CU Buffs and Denver Broncos fan. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family, going hiking, going to sporting events, live music and exploring our beautiful state! I also enjoy traveling and experiencing new things and places. I have two boys, Aiden will be a freshman at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and Gavin is a freshman at the new high school in Wellington. We are looking forward to being back to such an amazing community!
