My name is Michaela Weedin and I'm so excited for our new school year!  I have been at Rice Elementary since 2013.  I started at Rice as a Kindergarten Paraprofessional for the year 2013-2014.  Since fall of 2014 to spring of 2022, I was a second-grade teacher.  This year will mark my second year back in Kindergarten and I'm super excited to be teaching a sweet and fabulous kindergarten class.  

I was born in Nebraska and moved to Colorado when I was six years old.  I grew up in Fort Collins and attending three schools in Poudre School District.  I was a Riffenburgh Roadrunner, Lesher Viking, and then was a Lambkin at Fort Collins High School.  I continued my education at the University of Wyoming where I received my bachelor’s degree in Education.  After college, I returned to Colorado where I worked for my family business for ten years until I became a Kindergarten Paraprofessional.  

My family is my heart!  One piece of my heart is my husband, Mark Weedin.  Mark and I have two sons, Caden and Carter.  We also have a labradoodle named Lou and a bernedoodle name Yogi.  As a family, we love taking our dogs on walks, spending time on our pontoon at the lake, camping, fishing, golfing, and watching baseball and football.  My passion is the ocean and traveling!

I'm looking forward to another amazing year at Rice Elementary!
