Hello! I am Elaine Mott and I am very excited to start my third year as a 2nd grade teacher at Rice Elementary. This will be my 17th year in teaching. I have taught several years in various grade levels Kindergarten through 3rd grade and Reading Intervention. I completed my undergrad degree from University of Colorado, Boulder in 2000 and completed my masters degree in Reading Instruction at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 2009.
I moved to Fort Collins when I was in 3rd grade and attended schools in the Poudre School District. I went to Shepardson Elementary, Boltz Junior High, and graduated from Fort Collins High School. I have moved around as an adult and taught in many places--including Camp Zama, Japan; Pierce, CO; Palmer Lake, CO; Waukegan, IL; West Salem, WI. I moved back to the Fort Collins area in 2022. I am very excited to be teaching in PSD!
I love sports of all kinds, especially baseball and football! I am a die hard Chicago Cubs, CU Buffs and Denver Broncos fan. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family, going hiking, going to sporting events, live music and exploring our beautiful state! I also enjoy traveling and experiencing new things and places. I have two boys, Aiden is a Junior at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. He is studying to be a High School Social Studies teacher. Gavin is a Junior at the high school in Wellington and plays football. In the fall, my Friday nights are cheering on the Eagles!
