I am originally from Williamsport, PA (Home of the Little League Baseball World Series) where I grew up playing multiple sports and being active in the outdoors. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Health (K-12) from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, where I also played football. One of my greatest physical accomplishments was thru-hiking the entire length of the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in 2003 where I fully realized the benefits of eating a balanced healthy diet and staying well hydrated while moving my body everyday. Now I am fortunate enough to be able to share some of the health and fitness skills and knowledge I have gained over the years with the Rice community! Hobbies I enjoy include backpacking, hiking, disc golf, cross-country skiing, daily walks, gardening, watching football and basketball, and relaxing. What I love about working at Rice is being part of a team that supports educating the Whole Child. As the Physical Education teacher, my intentions are to pass along my knowledge and passion for moving regularly, eating healthy, and caring for my well-being. I appreciate and value the individual make-up of all students and work hard to meet each kiddo as they are and where they are on their health and fitness journey.
