This is my 9th year teaching at Rice Elementary. This will be my first year as a 4th grade teacher at Rice, as I have taught 3rd grade for the past 8 years. I have a B.A. from California State University at Northridge in Liberal Studies and a Masters in Literacy from University of Northern Colorado. I have also taught 2nd grade for five years and 6th grade for three years. I have been married for over 22 years to my best friend and husband, Mike Carpenter. We have two teenage boys together, Nate and Travis, and a cat and dog at home. We love spending our summers camping, hiking, and boating together. In winter, we enjoy skiing and snowboarding. I love working at Rice and enjoy being able to be a part of the amazing community that is Wellington.
