Returning Soon: After School Enrichment

After school enrichment is an opportunity to engage our students in extracurricular activities outside of the school day.  We offer four 5-week sessions spread across the school year.  During these weeks classes will meet either Tuesday, Thursday, or Tuesday AND Thursday, from 3:05-4:05.

There are usually 8-10 classes per session.  We offer a wide variety of different classes in order to highlight our students varied interests.  Classes are taught by staff members, volunteers, and external organizations.

Choir

Choir is offered each year in the fall semester for third, fourth, and fifth grade students. Requirements for being in choir include the commitment of putting forth best effort, excellent behavior, cooperation, and a love of singing. Join choir!

3rd Grade Choir practice TBD
4th & 5th Grade Choir practice - TBD

Rice Learning Garden

The outdoor learning classroom and garden is a place for students and teachers to experience learning through inquiry and discovery.  The Colorado native plants give students a chance to explore the flora that grows and thrives in different Colorado ecosystems.  This outdoor classroom can also lend itself to any class that would like to expand their four walls to include sunshine and fresh air.

Raptor Squad

The Rice Elementary Raptor Squad is a group of innovative 5th grade students who produce our morning announcements, The Raptor Report.  Students are in charge of delivering the morning announcements. This is an extra- curricular opportunity -  students commit to one morning a week.

Library Helpers

4th and 5th grade Library Helpers work in the media center by shelving books, delivering book carts, and helping with Open Library. They also learn how to use the circulation system. Students commit to coming in one morning a week.
