I have had the privilege of serving our students and families at Rice for the past 10 years.  I am a graduate of Chadron State College in Nebraska with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Secondary English Education.  I earned my Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction Reading Specialist from Grand Canyon University.  This is also my 31st year of educating students!  I am so thankful that I have had the opportunity to be doing what I love for such a length of time.  I love my students and their families.  I am also thankful for my husband and best friend of 37 years, Douglas.  I have two amazing grown children, Savannah and Jeoff.  I am so grateful that they endured being the teacher's kids and they have taught me so much to help me be a more effective educator.  Can't forget the tiniest member of our family-- my 3 pound chipoo doggie is aging like me--Angel is now approaching age 14 and she is as playful as ever.
